CULT CROSS 2010 IN REVIEW

Jake Wells (Hudz/Suburu for 2010 CX) and Matthew Pronovost (Moots, finished third) ramp it up at the start of the Men's "A" race Saturday at the Eagle Fairgrounds while a short lived blizzard moves in on the course, perfect. Wells battled Jay Henry most of the race at the front before pulling away let for the win, but it was not easy...

Local Legend Jay Henry (and National Marathon MTB Champion) chases Jake Wells around the Cult Cross course, this run-up also served as the finish. Cult Cross always throws some kind of curveball at the racers, and this year it was a Monster run-up at the start, and a run-up finish. Jay rode super strong as expected and finished second in the field of ten "A" riders.

Jono Ridler who podged in the "C" field drinkin a Guinnie with Mike Skellion who was second in the Single Speed race behind Brian Hutchison

Ciro Zarate "running to the grave one barrier at a time"

Cult Cross 2010 once again proved that Spring CX is here to stay. Competing against one of the most popular early season road races on the front range due to it's cancellation the previous weekend due to weather, the racers came in record numbers to Cult Cross from as far away as Provo, Utah. The racing was fierce and the racers dug the course which featured signature Eglee character with power, and plenty of technical sections, which of course is what defines Cyclocross. A cold breeze and occassional HEAVY snow squalls made for some exciting action. There are still some T-shirts left for those of you who were unable to attend, give me a heads up if you want one. The hoodies sold out FAST!
